Beginning Thesis II and recalling Thesis I
This journal entry will be the first in a series of many documenting the development of my MFA thesis. For my first entry, I would like to recap my feelings about thesis I and the state my Thesis is in its current form.
Thesis I was a very stressful class for me for a variety of reasons. Most prevalent was the lack of support from both the instructor and the students in the class. The instructor and students were interactive design focused and didn’t feel like they had much to offer me. I wasn’t the only one struggling in the course. It seemed each of the students were getting the same minimal amount of feedback leaving each of us confused and trying to figure out what would work for us.
The lack of instruction and the minimal feedback has left me in question of validity of my thesis. I think despite the little input I put together something that may be viable. I will be more than happy to share what I have with my peers in hopes for a more participatory class.
I am optimistic for this class. This time around I know some of the students and know they are also focusing on the game development aspect of this course of study, which wasn’t the case in Thesis I.
