Character Role
The Zyclopses are the secondary antagonists of the 2022 Disney/Pixar animated film, Lightyear. They are an army of dutiful robots loyal to Zurg. The Zyclopses almost share some similarities to the Zurg Bots from Toy Story 2 and the Hornets from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, particularly they share the same color scheme, yellow and black. They also fire lasers from their hands. They also strongly resemble the two robots guarding the Pizza Planet entrance, and the robots from the deleted opening of Toy Story. The name Zyclops is parody on the word Cyclops, a one-eyed giant from Greek mythology. Also like the cyclops, Zyclops have one red glowing eye. Their cyclop-like style is similar to the various mecha of the Principality of Zeon such as Zaku in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. The Zyclopses are all voiced by the film's director, Angus MacLane. It is revealed by the alternate Buzz Lightyear that the Zyclopses were having trouble pronouncing his name properly and thus giving him his villainous identity
